With mangalasa:sanams of HH Chinnajeeyar Swamiji we are going to start our 2012-2013 Prajna academic year in August.

In the classes children:
- Recite some of the most important slokas of everyday life
- Understand our festivals, values, culture with an answer to every question those little minds can think of!
- Understand and practice some of the basic principles of Yoga
- Sing melodious bhajans
It is an educational experience for both you and your child! The curriculum comprises of a series of classes to benefit children of various age groups. Students learn from our puranas, ithihasas, Vedas, slokas and bhajans.
Swamiji has put in lot of time and effort and himself taught in Prajna training camp for the teachers to impart best Vedic knowledge to our children.
We are happy to inform you that we have started a new class "Sisu Module" for the 4-5 year old students. This is a unique offering from Houston JET USA chapter.
This is a specially designed module for these young ones to serve as a stepping stone to our religion, culture and festivals". Most of us were blessed to learn these from our grand parents and parents while growing up in India. We are trying to provide those same basic opportunities to these curious minds! We intend for this module to be fun, hands-on and educative! To get the most out of this class and also module 1 basic, it is necessary that the parents attend Prajna classes along with their young ones. This is an excellent way to help your child to keep up with what is going on at the temple and also to build upon what is being learnt! We are also excited to announce that we will be starting 5th module Bhagavad Gita for senior students.
AGE:
Sisu Module - 4 yrs to 5 yrs
Module 1 Basic - 6yrs to 7 yrs or graduates of Sisu Module
Module 1 Advanced - 7 yrs and older. Also graduates of Module1 Basic
Module 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are the graduates of previous class from last year
Classes are conducted every Sunday following FortBend ISD holiday schedule as much as possible.
CLASS TIMINGS:
Modules 1 through 6: Sunday, 10:00 AM - 12:00 Noon followed by theerdham.
Sisu Module: Sunday, 11AM-12:00 Noon followed by theerdham.
FEE:
$300 for each kid. If there are more than 2 kids from a family, there is a provision to pay $100 less. Remember all of your checks will serve as donation to the Ashtalaksmi temple and help cover the maintenance costs, cost of classsupplies etc. All the teachers are volunteers. Please write all checks payable to "ASHTALAKSHMI TEMPLE". Also, some of your employers may provide matching gift/donation contribution, even for 501c(3) charitable organizations. Avail that opportunity to help the temple if at all possible.
